Why choose to ride at Vine Hill Farm?
Today, our vision is to be the premier destination for equestrian instruction, boarding, and community, and outdoor recreation and events in Southwestern Ohio. We excel in helping you become the best rider, caretaker, and friend to horses. Our selection of horses that you may ride as a beginner are retired top-notch horses who were on the circuit competing in national shows such as Devon, Pony Finals, Harrisburg, and more.
The concept here at Vine Hill Farm is to bring you into the family and show you how you may work with horses at any level. The outdoor riding arena with all-weather footing as well as the indoor arena provide ample space for you to ride rain or shine. We provide partial and full care boarding across 35 stalls.
Vine Hill Farm is a friendly, professional, and safe atmosphere which emphasizes love of your animal, confidence, sportsmanship and teamwork. We offer you the chance to become part of this rich tradition of horses. Welcome!
Stables with tradition
The farm was born by the Gerst Family who used to house racing horses there before they went on to race in Kentucky whose vision was to provide excellence in horse racing, boarding, and care. In 1910, the Gerst Family horse, Donau, was the winner of the 1910 Kentucky Derby.
Even though, there are no longer racing horses on the farm, this rich history and winning spirit was instilled in the Gerst Family legacy which was passed down through generations and is now in the hands of the fourth generation, the Harpenau Family – Lisa, John, Michelle, and Blake. The main attraction to the farm is the excellence in teaching and care for horses. The Harpenau Family’s vision is similar to the Gerst Family.
